About Kevin Williams . . .
Kevin and Tracy Williams
Kevin and his wife Tracy reside in Geneva with their two dogs, SaraBelle and Coco.

Kevinís passion in public service stems from a long history of hard work in Kane County. His grandparents moved to Kane County in the early 1930ís, first in Batavia and then finally establishing residence in Geneva where they built their State Street house using their own hands. The home, constructed of handmade bricks, can still be seen today! Kevinís grandfather worked in the Boiler Rooms at MooseHeart. He describes his grandparents as hard working and friendly, who enjoyed helping people. Kevin is no different.

Growing up in a military family, Kevin attended many different schools before his family settled in Geneva, where he attended Geneva schools from eighth grade until he graduated from high school in 1977.

For the past ten years, Kevin has been happily married to Tracy (Wildenradt). He has three children (Amber-33, Amanda-32, and Joshua-28), who were all raised in Kane County with his late wife Teresa (Pesina). Kevin and Tracy have two grandchildren (Hannah and Braden), who live with their mother Amber and father Ben Frary in the state of Washington.

In 1979 Kevin began his commitment to Public Service when he served as a Geneva Firefighter. He moved to Texas in 1981 where he was a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic until 1986. In 1988 Kevin returned to his Kane County roots and became an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Batavia Police Department. He was eventually promoted to the rank of Auxiliary Sergeant.

Beginning 1992, Kevin began his service with the Kane County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer. In 1993 he transferred to the Patrol Division as a Patrol Officer, where his duties included Patrol, K-9, Special Operations, and Investigations. Demonstrating skills in leadership, Kevin was rewarded with the rank of Sergeant. Some of his responsibilities included supervising patrol shifts, the Special Operations Unit, the K-9 Unit, Community Policing, and Investigations. In the following year, Kevin achieved the rank of Lieutenant; his duties including the management of the Patrol and Invesigations Division.

Currently, Kevin is a Lieutenant of Community Policing and Crime Prevention, which includes overseeing and/or participating in the Neighborhood Watch programs, Safekids, School Resource Officers and TRIAD (a safety awareness and crime prevention organization for the elderly). Kevin is earnestly involved with TRIAD, assisting in the education of senior citizens to both recognize and remain safe from the criminal elements that may prey upon them.

Additionally, Kevin assists in providing a safer Kane County in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, such as the Aurora Police Department. Joint efforts assist in the war against violence and drug trafficking while targeting gang members with warrant sweeps. His opportunity to work closely with Elgin Police Department assisted in the planning and execution of the Civil Law Suit against the Latin Kings.

For the past several years, both he and his wife Tracy have participated with Special Olympics, as well as the Friends of Jason Gould Committee where Kevin is the Master of Ceremonies. Kevin is also involved with the Jason's Hogfan Party which raises money for leukemia and lymphoma research.

Kevin is a member of the Kane County Sheriff's FOP Lodge #14 which strengthens his belief in the brotherhood and sisterhood of his profession. Yet his conviction is to serve the citizens of Kane County. It is not just a career for Kevin Williams ... it is a way of life. Kevin Williams' is devoted to Kane County; he endeavors to keep it a better place in which to live and raise our families. As Sheriff, he will continue to do so.
